So, here is a sneak peek at the card I made, click below for full pics and deets along with a list of supplies used.
So, here is the card. I think it is simple enough, but still elegant and not plain. :) A little glam and glitz with some bling and some sparkle cardstock!
There were a few steps to making this card, but they were all pretty simple and quick processes. It was difficult to photograph the card and not get a flashback from the pearlized cardstock.
The base of the card is just plain (non-textured) cardstock. The top dark pink layer is also non-textured and I distressed the edges of it with my edge Distresser. I ran the dark pink cs through my big kick with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. For the flag, I just cut a thin strip and then used the "clear" sheet for my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up evenly and then marked with a pencil along the corner edge of the sheet. that gave me perfectly even flag tips.
A close up. As you can see I added a small piece of scalloped border to the flag. Using some of my white Prisma Craft Thread I wrapped it around and then added a gem.
Of course, I had to put something in the middle of the mini flowers (punched from Stampin' Up! Boho Blossom punch), and then the sentiment is on one of the Stampin' Up! "Four Frames" images. In the top right corner, there is actually a "bird", as originally stamped on the image, but I jsut turned the image around and covered the bird up. I heat embossed the crown and ran it through my big kick with a Spellbinders circle and then embossed it.
The inside. For this, I repeated the distressing of the white cs edges with my edge distresser. For the flowers, instead of using different inkpads, I wanted it to have a watercolor look. So, I used a few different Zig Brushable markers. I love how it turned out! I made sure to make some of the flwoers purple and teal to carry in the color from the inside.
a close up of the inside. the sentiment is actually from a stamp set that Ms. Lela sent me as an RAK last month... Inque See D's "Garden of Friendship".
I really hope that Queen Lela likes her card, and the gifts I sent her. They will be as much of a surprise to her as they are to me, HAHA.
List of supplies is below, and thank you so much for stopping by to look at my projects. :)
