Another craft for myself

Anyone how knows me, knows that I suffer from a serious mental illness. I have a LOT of self doubt, insecurities and I don't always love myself. But, over the last 8 years or so I have worked hard with my psychiatric dr's and my counselors and have started to feel differently about myself in a lot of ways. I've grown to know myself, to be more aware of my self and to understand my own feelings and process them in a healthy way (50% of the time). It's not often I make things "for myself", but I got a card from a lady in my swap group a few months back and I really liked the idea she had for it, so I replicated it with different colors and paper and added my own embellishments to it.

It's nothing real fancy, but it is something for me that I have hung on my wall and I look at it often as a reminder that even though I'm not perfect, I can still love myself just the way I am.

I showed this to my Hubby after I made it and he gave me a big hug and said he was glad I made something for myself and he is amazed at how far I've come over the last few years with my counseling and such.

I love the sentiment on this because to me, it also means that I can be a disaster of a person and have a broken brain, but I can also be beautiful at the same time! Life isn't always beautiful for everyone, and I am certainly no exception!

I even wrote myself a little note on the back of the card
