LLAMA Just Say, these are cute cards!

I recently got a new stamp and die set, "llama just say" from Sugar Pea Designs. I couldn't wait to play. I came up with a great simple yet exciting layout and created 6 similar cards. The hardest part about these cards was coloring all the llamas and their accessories and putting the bakers twine and strings together. I think they came out awesome. Here's a sneak peek, click click below to see the full cards.

Thanks for clicking to see what I came up with! They're all the same layout but different colors, LOTS of color!!!

For the background color circles I used 4 different mixed colors of Distress Oxide pads and SU! Ink pads. I wanted these cards to have BOLD colors because I don't usually work with really bold backgrounds but these cards needed it so the llamas and gifts had something to stand up to.

So, my main goal was to be able to fit the sentiment on the front of the card (the insides are blank) with the rest of the parts.

I ended up making 2 Thank You cards and 4 Birthday cards, though I do wish I could have made more of both. I kept the Thank You cards for myself as well as 1 birthday card and I'm putting the rest up for sale.

I'm not showing close up pics of all the cards, just 3 to show some details.

Here's 1 of the 4 Birthday cards. All coloring was done with my prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. I love the little neck tassles on the llama in the back, makes it not so plain. I used sequins for extra pizzaz, sparkle and shine to add to these celebration cards.

I used 4 different strings for this card (and most others). I know a lot of people use embroidery floss, but that stuff is expensive!!! So, I buy the big packages of friendship bracelet threads. There is primary, bright, pastel and bakers twine type colors. And they come a ton to a package so I make out good on the cost for what I get. I love using this stuff on cards, it's a cute and different type of embellishment. I just wrap them around my fingers and give each one a little more than the last or the next and it gives a little dishoveled look.

For the sentiments I heat embossed them in shimmery silver on the black cardstock and I attached the sentiment and thread together with a staple.

This is the Thank You card. Instead of using gifts I used the cute potted cacti plants.

I did the same thing with the sentiment but I added some bakers twine to the different colors of string.

I had a lot of fun making these cards! I think I'll definitely be replicating a few more of these because I like them so much, and that's saying something because I don't usually do too much replicating, but the cards I've been working on the last 2 weeks have been a lot of replicating because I like them so much!

Come back to see more crafts soon, I have a lot more to share with you that I've been working on! I hope you've enjoyed these cards and I've inspired you to work outside your norm when creating your next batch of cards!

Keep on Craftin'
