Flower and Butterfly Explosion! Card in a Box!

Here's another explosion card in a box that I made. These things are SO addicting to make. I've seen some that are SO elaborate that I can't even imagine how the creators got everything jam packed inside. But me, I like things a little less crowded and just 1 or 2 focal elements.
So, Here's another EXPLOSION Card in a Box!

Flower Explosion! Card in a Box!

It's been quite a while since I've done a "Card in a Box". They seem so tedious and time consuming, but really they aren't! I should do these more often as they are really fun to do and always turn out SUPER CUTE!!!

Best Girlfriends B-day!

My GF just had a birthday, and I made this "Faux Card" for her! It's something I've wanted to try for a long time, I've never seen it done before, so I figured now was as good a time as any because I knew I wanted to create a cute little 'scene' for her to enjoy. I figured she could put this on her desk at work, or hang on the wall, or whatever.

Instead of making it an "open and close" card, I made it a "faux card" and instead of having an inside she will just pull the tag out from between the front and middle layers of the scene. It came out SO freakin' cute and MUCH better than I expected.

Here's a sneak peek, click below to see the rest of the pics!

**NOTE: This is a VERY image heavy post, so if you don't have high speed internet, or you're viewing from a cell phone or tablet, pics may take a few moments to load, so please be patient!

WOOD you still be mine? A cute beaver Valentine!

I had a lot of fun making this Valentine's Day card for my hubby! Though I was having a very difficult time with my bipolar at the time I was working on this card, I put my mind to it and I got this done!
It's sometimes difficult making "cute" cards for my hubby that don't turn out 'girly'. I know a lot of my card making friends have this same problem. I actually had to turn to my card making friends in one of my Facebook groups to get help with the colors for this card. Thankfully, several of the ladies threw out the same color suggestions of red and yellow or red and gold.
That helped me greatly in picking the papers for this card. I originally had teal, rose pink and brown picked out. ICK! I'm so glad my friends were able to help me out in the color selection.

Anyhow, I got to use this CUTE beaver stamp that I have to make hubby's card, and I added a lot of other cute elements to make the card complete, including getting to use my new sewing machine that I got for Christmas, to sew some borders on the card (inside and out).

Here's a sneak peek at the card, click below to see the rest of the pics.

Happy Hexagons, I mean Happy Birthday!

Our friend Cindy just recently had a birthday, and I wanted to share the card I made for her.

I knew I wanted to make her a card with the Stampin' Up! Six Sided Sampler set. She isn't very "girly", so I tried to come up with a card that wasn't girly either. sometimes, that's really difficult to do! I sat for HOURS, I'd say probably 2.5 to 3 hours looking through all my cardstock and paper trying to figure out what to make that would look cool with these stamps. Something pretty, but not too girly, but something cool but not masculine.

After a while I gave up and had to go to google for inspiration. I found a LOT of really cute, pretty, unique and cool cards. I wanted to take a 'simple' card that I found and spruce it up a little bit and make it a tad bit more fancy.

So, I ended up doing a CASE (Copy and Slightly Edit) of a card that I found. Click below for the deets, here is a sneak peek for now...

Cards come in boxes, too!

Woo Hoo, I'm actually updating on a regular basis over the last week! LOL Hopefully, this will continue to happen, because I have SOOOOOO much to share with y'all, the stuff I've done over the last few months!

And, to keep me company, I have my little Stormy kitty. This is pics of her, RIGHT NOW, that I jsut took. She's helping me write this blog post. Well, mainly she is telling me to stop taking pics of her and get back to writing this blog post. But, she is really saying, stop writing that blog post and PET ME!!! lol

Anytime I'm in my "craft cave" (my craft room, I call it my craft cave, cause sometimes, I lock myself in here for DAYS crafting!) she is always in here, SOMEWHERE. Usually, it's either on my lap, or on my counter somewhere. I really do try hard to keep her off the counter, and/or off the items I'm working on, because I don't always know if someone is allergic to cats. She is the only one allowed in here with me, out of all our furbabies, because she doesn't play with my stuff, or STEAL IT, like her sister does. LOL

Anyhow....So, My baby sister had her 22nd birthday on December 2nd. WOW, weird! 22 on 12-2-14 LOL. Anyhow, I've always just made her regular folded cards, and this year I wanted to try something different.

I made my first ever CARD IN A BOX! These things are all the rage right now. Well, I guess they were earlier this year, and I'm not really seeing them as much now. Anyhow, this was my first one, and I LOVE how it turned out!

I would have much rather liked having used a cupcake stamp, but I thought something other than a stamped image for the major focal point, would be best. So, a fuzzy cupcake it ended up being! lol

Banners and Butterflies... Oh My!

Hey there, thanks for coming to visit me. I hope you've looked around a bit and seen what I've been working on lately! I told ya, I've been busy craftin' over the last few months.

So, I got these fuzzy butterflies from a friend in a bot of card making goodies that she sent me. the butterflies are really cute. I had to find just the perfect card to make with them. Something that wasn't too embellished to where it would take the focus off the butterflies, but something that had enough and didn't look plain.

Here's what I came up with... click below to see all the details and close up pics.

My Mini's! Cards that is...

Hey y'all, well I said I had a lot more to show you, and that I'd update again soon...bet ya didn't think it would be 30 mins from my last post though, huh? LOL

So over the last few months I've made a TON of mini cards. This post is dedicated to those cards.
Here is a Sneak Peek, click below to see the rest...

Fun and Fanciful Mother's Day

This year was a fun and fanciful Mother's Day! :)
I made a fun card for my Ma, and a fancy, classy card for my Grandma.

This year for Mother's day, I wanted to try something new in my card making. It was my first ever attempt at making a card that wasn't perfectly squared, that didn't simply open from the side or the top. I made my first ever "center step card" for my Ma. For starters, I am HORRIBLE at measuring. usually I just lay paper on top of each other, scoot it over a tad and draw a small line at bottom, as to mark where I need to cut for the layers. LOL
Well, I didn't even have a ruler, so I got one at walmart. it's a really pretty fiskars ruler, and it was marked .97. it rang up as .10, yes, ten cents, people!!

Anyhow, the card came out awesome! I had been fussing with it for about 2 hours and i still couldn't get it down, after measuring, re-measuring, watching 4 you tube tutorials, I was still STUCK. so, I just put the card aside and moved onto my Grandma's card. the next day, when I got up, I searched one more time on you tube for a video tutorial, and I FINALLY understood from watching it.  BEST tutorial on how to do this card!!

Anyhow, here are my cards, click below to see.

Birthday Cards for my 'rents!

wooo hooo It's been a while since my last post. OMGosh, life just gets in the way of crafting. But, I'm on some new psych meds now and hopefully will start feeling better soon.
Over the last few months I've been crafting a LOT (as you can see in a blog post, 2 posts back). I've done TONS of cards, more than 50 I'd say. But, this month in April, both my mom, dad and little big brother (he's younger than me, but WAY taller than me. lol) had a birthday.

So, here are 2 of the birthday cards I made, my mom and dad's. follow the link below to see pics!
