It's our Grand Son's 1st Birthday and couldn't be happier with how this card came out!
I mixed Zoo animals and an Owl. There is an Owl in the set I used with Zoo animals, so I didn't stray too far off the path.
Click below to see the card, it's a RIOT!

2 cards for 2 Great Friends!
Hey Y'all, what's goin' on?
Not much here, just been resting at home trying to get used to my new psych meds. It's given me lots of down time, so I have been able to get in some crafting time.
I've started about 10 different cards and am slowly getting them done...but trying not to start new ones in the meantime of working on the other ones. But, sometimes a great idea pops into my head and I just HAVE to start working on it.
Anyhow, here are 2 cards I made for 2 of my good friends. Sneak peek, so click below to see the rest of the pics.
So, I made a card late last year that had a similar layout to this one and I've gotta say, it's one of the few layouts that I LOVE out of all my creations. So, I thought I'd try it out again with some other embellishments.
My 2 friends live back on the East Coast, I wish hubby and I could have stayed there, we miss it SO much! the pace of life, the people, and of course, the WEATHER. Las Vegas weather SUCKS!! (and if I could say that any more stern that I did, I would! LOL)
Anyhow, here are the cards...
Card 1:
These cards have such great layers. The card base is Kraft card stock, and then on top of that is a shaped sheet from a K&Co. mat stack (don't know the name of it cause it was given to me with a few loose sheets in a box of swap stuff). I stacked some Pink Bazzil card stock on top of the mat sheet.
The dot card stock is just plain white ran through the Big Shot with the "Swiss Dots" embossing folder. I used the CTMH "Sweet Leaf" ink pad to color the raised portion of the sheet.
The little adorable ladybug medallion is from Miss Elizabeth's line, they are metal trimmed stickers. I got a whole pack at a yard sale for .25 cents!
**I chose the ladybug medallion for this card because this card is going to my friend who I always have called "Ladybug". She is super sweet, she loves everyone, she is so carefree and just goes where the wind takes her. :) perfectly fitting for her!
I don't know what brand the mini border is (or the corner pieces), I also received that in the swap box (if you know who they are, please comment and let me know!!!)
The flowers are Prima flowers and the brad is a Recollections mini brad.
The sentiment is a Studio112 Dimensional Sticker with the butterfly. I attached it to card stock so that it gave it a stiff back in order for me to be able to mount it with foam squares.
As you can see, the card has nice layers and it doesn't look completely flat. :)
The sentiment is from the same line as the card above Studio112 "Thank You Dimensional Stickers"
they are great for finishing off awesome quick and easy cards.
Here you can see how everything is popped up with the foam dementionals.
Well, those are my 2 cards for today. I hope you like them. Please come back to see me soon, I will have more to share.

On the inside I stamped the "thinking of you" sentiment from the K&Company Amy Butler "Lotus Greetings" set.
*********************************
This second card is pretty much the same, but just a couple of subtle differences
I used another deco paper piece from a K&Co. mat stack and the same pink Bazzil card stock. I used the last of my pink for this card, and I think it went to very cute use!
The top is another piece I used the "Swiss Dots" embossing folder on. I used CTMH "Creme Brule" stamp pad to ink the raised dots.
the little medallion in the top corner is from the "hello luscious" line of Basicgrey epoxy stickers. it's held on with a glue dot for maximum hold because all know that those stickers that say "self adhesive" really aren't good stick ons once they go through the mail.
The flower is a stack 2 Prima flowers on top of the Tye-Dye Recollections flower on the bottom. I used a tye-die flower because my friend who this is going to, loves tye-dye stuff! thankfully the colors matched perfectly to the butterfly and sentiment, as well as the border strip. The sentiment is from the same line as the card above Studio112 "Thank You Dimensional Stickers"

A special card for Special Someones on a new Journey
The beginning of the year my lil' big bro (he is younger than me by 4 years, but WAYYYY taller than I am. LOL) and his new wife, my AWESOME Sister-In-Law, moved from their small town in Montana to Layton, Utah. My brother is in the military, so his job took them for a while.
I wanted to make a very special card for them. I know that my SIL was having a difficult time with the move, because she's lived in Montana her whole life and never ventured far from home. My brother on the other hand, has literally traveled the whole world, by way of his job.
anyhow, I was looking through all of my stamp sets... ok, let me not lie, I SPREAD ALL OF MY STAMP SETS OUT ON THE FLOOR (lol), so that I had a GOOD view of everything, hoping that something would just JUMP out at me for an idea of what I could make. I didn't have any cars, or trucks, or trains, but I did have 2 bicycles. This was PERFECT cause they are both the outdoors-y type.
So here is the card I came up with, a little sneak peek, click below to see the full card...

Okie Dokie, Slow Pokie! Here's a Card!
Howdy Y'all!!! I know I said a month ago that I'd update with some crafts, but holy moly I've been SOOOOOOOOO busy and overwhelmed! So, FINALLY, here is a card from this slow poke. lol
Also, the last 3 days I've actually been sitting down and working on some crafts!!!
And, here is a "small" update of a card I recently made. Had a lot of fun coming up with this one, I actually did NOT use a sketch. :) I don't know the names of all the companies for some of the supplies I used, since I just relocated across the U.S. all of my craft stuff is in storage back East.
I'm slowwwwly working on rebuilding my stash with new supplies, and all of the stuff I used to make this card, were in a small box of mish-mash supplies that my friend Laura M. sent me from Massachusetts. :) she's a good swap buddy and always sends me some of the cutest card making stuff! Thanks Laura!
Anyhow, here ya go. It's a thinking of you card.
I made the card a little wonky, rather than all straight. I thought it gave it some nice contrast considering I used square cardstock on the top two layers, against a rounded mat in the back and the rounded corners of the senti tag (which was cut with the SU! Decorative Label Punch)
for the top mat, I ran the swiss dots EF through the big shot and then used SU! Bashful Blue to brayer over the raised dots.
Here's the card on it's back. I know the CS looks "warped" but it isn't. I didn't glue the edges of the CS down, so that it gave the card some extra dimension. I used foamies to pop up the senti and the border strip.
Here is a close up of the senti and the flower. I used a plain flat brad to hold the flower together and then I used glossy accents to glue a gem onto it.
I'm not really sure what these small circles are that I used. I know they are stickers, they came in a pack of 8... I'm going to go out on a limb and say they are "epoxy stickers" but I'm not sure because there was no packaging to them. I just thought they went well with the card here instead of putting more gems. sometimes, too much bling is a bad, bad thing. LOL (I know, most paper crafters wouldn't agree with me on that, but ya know, we all have our own styles).
well, that's my card!
I've been crafting for the last 3 days, so I'll have lots more cards, and I'll work on updating my blog over the next few days.
I hope that you've enjoyed looking. :)

CASED a card, Thinking of You...
I saw a card similar to this set of cards, on Pinterest, and fell in love with it right away, so I saved it and decided to CASE it. now, I know there are many meanings to "CASE" a card, but I like to call it "copy and selectively edit" a card. when doing a scrapbook layout, it's the same thing, but I call that scraplifting. LOL
Anyhow, I did make a few changes to the card, such as the circle the image is in, and I also used a different embossing folder, and I used ink to slightly distress my edges and give them dimension. I also did the ribbon differently, so that it would give the INSIDE of the card a finished look, and I added cardstock to the inside where the message would be written.... so a few subtle differences to my card from the original.
I actually made 2 of these, with different colors and different sentiments on the front...
Here is a sneak peek, read behind the clicky to see the rest...

A Patriotic Thinking of You!
Howdy! How is everyone doing??? I know it's been quite a while since I've updated my blog but I promise, I won't get this laxed again!! It has just been a REALLY hectic last 2 months. too much to explain, and besides I'd rather share all my GOODIES with you rather than my complaints. LOL
Anyhow, so back in November I had a friend ask me to make a special thinking of you card with a patriotic theme. so, this is what I came up with and she loved it, as did the recipient, which of course, makes me very happy. :) Here is a little snippet of the card, click the link below to see the rest of the card.
