Just as my sissy asked me to make a card for her hubby this past Valentine's day, he also asked me to make her a card from him. I sent him some options of stamp sets and he selected the Chicks stamp set. Here's what I came up with (you'll have to click below to see)
Sissy's hubby had a request for a green chick so I ran with it and this is the green the selected. I colored her with my prismacolored pencils and blended with gamsol. I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder to get the raised background and then inked it in green to match the chick.
The embroidery floss in the corner all matched my colors except for the pink, so I had to dye that with my inkpad and I didn't let it dry long enough and it spread a little of the ink on the card. OOPSIE!
For the sentiment I used the SU! Four Frames and Decorative Label punch. The sentiment is actually one straight line, so I had to do some masking while inking to stamp each line. I put blue stickles glitter glue around the oval part of the punch out, it looks so much better in person.
For the flowers I used a velvet for the blue, and paper flowers for the pink and yellow. The leaves I actually made by cutting up a larger yellow flower and inking them green (because I didn't have any paper leaves)
Since the chick is wearing glasses, I wanted them to be shiny like lenses so I covered them in Glossy Accents and it worked perfect.
This is the sentiment her hubby picked to go on the inside.
I hope you thought this was a TWEET card, I had fun making this one. Please check back soon, I have more to share!
Keep on Craftin'!
