Fabulous Flamingo Mother's Day

My SIL's Hubby asked me to make her a card for Mother's Day from him. I gave him a few stamp sets to choose from and he chose a Flamingo stamp set.

Here's a sneak peek at the card, you know what to do to see the full card...

This was a fun card to make! I ended up making a window shaker card. Initially I just going to put different colored patterned paper where the window shaker is. But, it looked so boring. So, I said to hell with it, let me get this done as a shaker, she'll love it! For this card I used the "Flocking Fabulous" stamp set from Crafty Meraki.

I colored the image with my prismacolored pencils and blended with gamsol (to get a closer look, you can click the pics, it will make them bigger). After coloring the image I die cut it with the stamp sets coordinating dies.

I added 3 gems to the top corner, all different colors to match different elements of the card.

This shows the 3D of the card, I made the flamingo and the sentiment flag 3D as well but with a thinner 3D foam tape.

I stamped this image on the inside of the card.

This is the card with the shaker pieces shook up. I used diamond dots that coordinated with the colors of the card as well as mini silver sequins.
For the sentient flag I stamped the sentiment and inked the edges before adding some friendship bracelet thread. I didn't wanna just tied the string around the cardstock, so I put it in a triangle pattern. I think this is one of my favorite patterns to use when adding threads to cards.

Well, that's all for this card! I hope you like it as much as I do. I'm not sure if my SIL likes it because sadly, it hasn't made it to her yet. I don't know why, I mailed it pretty early before Mother's Day, but hopefully it will make it to her this week. I know she's going to flocking love it!!! She loves flamingo's, so this should really make her smile, and I've never made her a shaker card before either, so that will definitely make her smile!

See you soon for more shares.
