Hey there! I'm back with 2 more cards. These are the last 2 cards from my Make & Take kits that my SU! Demo sends out each month.
I had a LOT of fun playing with the first card, but I must admit, the 2nd card took me for a loop trying to figure out the configuration of the opening flap. LOL I get confused easy sometimes!
Here's a sneak peek at the first card, click below to see both cards.
This first card is my FAVORITE card I made out of all of the Make & Take kits. It's just beautiful. I'm must sad I didn't have a chance to do it back in Spring when she sent me the kit. I know someone who would have loved this card. But, at least I can save it to have a spring card ready for next spring, which will be here fast because the months seem to be FLYING by faster than a butterfly can flutter!
For this card, all Jeanette sent in the kit was the card base, background deco paper, the stamped and die cut flowers, leaves, the stamped/punched out sentiment (was just the sentiment, I inked the edges and added the flower and dot border to it) and 2 long strands of silver ribbon (which I cut in half to make 4--per her suggestion in her video).
On this card, I wanted some swirly somethings, so I added the pink leaves flourish and the white one that I inked up with some yellow to add more color. I also did a duo color butterfly and die cut it out adding a clear gem to the middle of it. It took me about 10 minutes to finally settle on an arrangement of where I wanted the flowers and such to be placed and once I was done, I was very happy.
There is TONS of double sided tape, 3d foam pop squares and glossy accents on the back of this arrangement. I don't think it's going anywhere, it's so stuck to this card I had a hard time getting it straight and had to pull it off and thankfully the small piece that ripped was in the middle under it all. whewww!
In the top left and bottom right corner I added 3 pink gems. I was going to go with yellow but they stand out enough on the card, so I had to go with pink.
For the inside, I added some white cardstock and stamped a sentiment. This will make a lovely card for a friend come spring!
For the 2nd card from the May Make & Take kit is adorable! For this kit, Jeanette sent the card base, a punched out tag, the bunny (uncolored), the die cut word friend and the deco paper. I LOVE this mushroom paper, if you go a few blog posts back I used it on one of the other card kits she sent me.
I chose to color the bunny brown with a blue shirt. I wanted a shirt color that would stand out from the background and thought that blue would be a nice addition of color to the card. I also added a blue gem above the letter 'i' in friend, and it looks darker on the image, but if you're holding the card, the blue matches the bunny shirt color EXACTLY! I also put 4 green gems on the card 1 in each corner.
I was torn if I should add more gems to the deco strip on the right side, but I decided against it.
For this card, it's a weird fold, one I've never done before, but I like it. I inked the edges of the whole card base, the flap arm as well as the deco paper and the rectangle the bunny is on.
It's a long arm flap opening (I don't know if that's the OFFICIAL name, but that's what I'm going with, LOL). The tag that she sent I cut in half and each half put on the top/bottom so that the bunny was on a tag. And once that long arm flap is opened, the left side of the card opens up to show the inside.
For the inside of the card I wanted to do a sentiment that brought "friendship" into it since the sentiment she sent was friend. So I cut some white cardstock (she sent white paper for this, but I wanted more heavy duty so I cut cardstock to the same size) and added one of my favorite friendship quotes from the SU! Language of Friendship stamp set.
I really like the idea she had for this card of putting that extra decorative strip on the right side, so that it wasn't so much plain space on the inside when the card is opened.
The ONLY issue I have with this card is that when it's standing up, the long arm flap doesn't want to stay shut. So, when I send it, I will have to send a glue dot with it so that if the recipient wants to stand it up on a table or mantle or something they can put that on the backside of the bunny to keep the card closed. All in all, this was a fun card to make and Jeanette sends some of the cutest stuff there is!
Thanks for stopping by, I have 2 more projects to share so come back soon to see them.
Keep on Craftin'
