Sending Showers of Love and Smiles Across the Miles

Hey y'all! Today I have 2 cards to share. Most of my followers know, I do NOT duplicate cards. I do however, often times replicate the layout of a card because I liked my original layout of another card.

That's what I have here today. The layout used on these 2 cards are the same layouts on a card that I made back in 2017. I used one of the Santoro Gorjuss Girls stamps I have.

One is for my baby sister who I miss dearly everyday, and the other is for mine and hubby's best friend Jenn, who recently lost her dad (and lost her mom last year). We called them Mom and Dad because they were like 2nd parents to hubby and I. It really sucks that they are both gone. Jenn is more than a friend to us, she is family for sure! I call her my sister or Butthead (I'm Bevis) LOL.
And Please always say "I love you" before leaving the house because just never know when your hug or kiss will be your last.

Anyhow, click below to see the cards.

This first card is for Jenn. She's a bit more 'girly' than my sister is so I went with cute colors, lots of glitter and colorful flowers and image colors.

I love how all the colors came together on this card. Somehow, for the first time ever, I found flowers that exactly match my coloring!!! That would be the 5 mini clustered flowers under the big flower. It may not look like it in the photo (I just couldn't get any good pics today for any of the 6 projects I did!) but those mini green and that mini pink flower match exactly to the coloring of her dress, hat and boots.

I know the green doily doesn't exactly match...but in a way it does because of the stems of all the flowers on the base background paper. I die cut this out with my SU! Doily Die on Glitter Paper. I LOVE how it sparkles! For the matting I just cut 2 sheets of deco paper with my SU! Top Note die and layered them and then added this little cutie on top. I inked the edges of her frame so it didn't look so plain.

For the heart "raindrops" and the puddle I used Glossy Accents over it so that it looks like a real wet puddle and raindrops. I added a large clear gem and 2 medium pink gems.

For the inside I used the "tablet" stamp from this set and hand wrote my sentiment inside. I used 2 hearts from the set to add around it.

Here is the 2nd card, this one is for my baby sister. Not normally colors I'd use on a cheerful "thinking of you" card, but like I said, she isn't as glittery and girly as most gals I make cards for, so I tend to go with the darker colors for her cards, especially red and black because those are her 2 favorite colors together. I did use some blue deco paper with black polka dots on it to add a 3rd color to the card.

For the image mat, I did the same thing as I did with above card, layered 2 and then added the image on top. For this card I used a regular white doily.

For the flowers I layered 3 and then added a blue feather to the back. It doesn't look like it in the pics, but the colors are match perfectly. (If you have any tips on getting good pics, I'd really like to hear them, I'm at a loss. Sometimes I can get good pics, other times I can't. It's frustrating!!!)
I also clustered 3 flowers under the large one, a red flower and 2 black ones. 18mm mini flowers.

For the bottom I just added a cute little blue heart shaped gem. It's adorable! I also used Glossy Accents on the heart raindrops and the puddle.

For the inside, I used the same tablet stamp and some hearts and again hand wrote my sentiment.

Last year, sadly, my baby sisters house caught fire and she lost a lot (not total loss-partial). So, I've been making a lot of cards so that every month I can send her one, since she lost all the ones I made her in the fire.

Well anyhow, that's all for this post. Thanks for stopping by!

Keep on Craftin!
