Hexagons, Flowers and Lace

I created a really neat and pretty card for a friends birthday. It has the elements of hexagons, flowers and lace. Click below to see!

The background was fun to create! First, I stamped the flowers and the sentiment on the cardstock. Then, I used the hexagons dry embossing folder and I put versamark all over the top of the folder and then I ran it through my sizzix big kick. It came out embossed (decoration raised 3d off the cardstock) and all gluey for the whole piece of cardstock. I used clear embossing powder and then my heat gun to heat it up.  The hexagons got all glossy

I then used my felt square and inked it up with SU! Chocolate Chip (brown) and rubbed it over the whole surface of the cardstock. It make it look really distressed and rugged. I wasn't quite happy with how the flowers turned out, but then I said wait, it makes them look 3D, but they're flat.

I ran some embroidery floss through the lace holes at the top and mounted that on a strip of purple cardstock and then added some gems to the bottom corner.

For the inside I mixed inks of Tm Holtz Dusty Concord and SU! Tempting Turquoise and stamped the flowers and the sentiment. I just love how these flowers turned out.

So that's it for this post. Come back soon and see more of my crafts. Thanks for looking!
