I have yet another new stamp set and it is adorable! It's Mermaids. Can you guess what I did with them? Yep, that's right, I made 4 cards!...
I hand painted the background of all 4 cards with watercolor paints, they turned out beautiful for a sunset background. I hand colored everything else with prismacolored pencils and blended with gamsol. Each card has 1 white mermaid and 1 mermaid with brown skin so that if someone wanted to give this to a mixed or black child, they could and they would feel represented rather than giving their kid (or adult) a card with 2 white mermaids. I try to advocate for people anytime I can and this was perfect.
The sentiment flag says "It's your Birthday, Make a Splash" and inside the card (sorry no pic, I forgot) it says "Mermaid kisses and star fish wishes". I used 2 pearls on each of the sentiment flags.
So, what do you think of these cards? I hope you liked them. I hope they inspire you to try out making your own watercolored background. I just used a Walmart brand set of watercolor paints that I got for $1.28. it has 12 colors on the pallet, so it's pretty versatile and the paints go a long way.
I hope you'll come back soon to see more of my crafty makes!
