Get well card for my Hubby!

This evening I made a get well card for my Hubby that I'd like to show you. Today, my hubby went in for his 17th back surgery! YIKES!!! I really feel bad for him...

he has had such a difficult time with his back and things just seem to be getting worse and worse.
Today, the surgery was to do a trial run of the pain pump. He previously had a spinal stimulator put in, but that only helped the pain in his legs, not his back. So, they are doing the trial of the pump with morphine. The good thing is that the morphine doesn't go into his bloodstream, it goes directly into his spine, so the pain relief is instant.

I talked to him on the phone a little bit ago, (he is staying overnight at the hospital, they have him in the ICU because he had a small complication during surgery which required him to have more supervision than he would get in just a regular hospital room) and he said he is having a major reaction to the morphine. So, it looks like he won't be able to have morphine through the pump. The dr. said there is one other medicine they can try, but that will require him to have another surgery for a "clean run" of the trial with the other medicine.

The trial pump will come out in the morning, and he will have to wait 2 weeks before going through this all over again for the other medicine to see if that will work for him without giving him an allergic reaction.
He has had a reaction to morphine before, but he was able to NOT push the button so the morphine wasn't being delivered anymore, which stopped the itchiness and vomiting etc. But, with this, he can't stop the morphine since it's on an automatic thing, no button to push it's just continually delivered to his spine.

I really hope that the other medicine will work for him because the dr's have already told him there is nothing more they can do for him, that this pain pump is his last option, and if it doesn't work, he will have to live with the pain with no relief at all.

Well anyways, here is the card I made for him this evening :)

This is the sketch that I used:

Here is the front:
I used the Nurse Anya stamp from the Greeting Farm. I don't actually have this stamp, it's an image I got from someone in an image swap in one of my scrapbooking groups.
I colored her with my prisma colored pencils and then blended with gamsol. I tried the "highlight" effect with her hair. I've seen this done MANY times with copic markers, and I figured I'd give it a try with my prismas. I'm VERY pleased with how it turned out! :)

I used the spots and dots embossing folder to emboss the brown strip of cardstock near the bottom behind the image. I used my scalloped scissors to cut one of the strips of deco paper on one of the layers.
The flowers are a mixture of prima and recollections. I printed the sentiment (and the poem inside) in word. for the front sentiment I cut it with my 1.5 inch scalloped circle punch.

And here is the inside:
I don't usually decorate cards, but this one I thought needed decorated inside to go with the poem. I did NOT write this poem, I found it online in a google search. I don't know who the author is, it was "unknown" on all the websites this poem was found on.
Since I don't have any nestibilities, I used a nestibilities template that I have. A lady in one of my scrapbooking groups cut a ton of different templates for me so all I have to do is trace them on the back side of the paper/cardstock and then cut them out. :) still looks just as good, it just doesn't have the embossed edge.

This beauty will be waiting for my dear hubby when he gets home tomorrow afternoon. :)

Thanks for looking!
