very rough days, but made a card!

Been an extremely rough past month for me, been off my bipolar meds cause I couldn't afford them. I finally got to fill them yesterday, but this past week has been so rough for me, today is the first day I've been out of bed since monday. I'm contemplating admitting myself to the psych ward, this is something that my husband and I are weighing heavily. It's definitely NOT an easy decision to make.

aside from all this crap my mind is putting me through, I woke up today and I was extremely anxious. I needed to be busy and do something, so I made a card for my BFF Leslie, she just had surgery. sadly, it only took me 15 minutes to make it so it didn't keep me busy long enough. I went to the dr, went to the post office, went to the bank and then got home and was still really anxious, but i just couldn't stop crying either. I ended up walking around the block 2 times with the dog just trying to keep my mind off things. too bad it didn't help much :(

anyhow, here's a sneak peek of the card, click below to see the rest of the pics.

this is a card that I made this morning. I saw a "similar" card on pinterest so I decided to CASE (copy and slightly edit) it. I edited it quite a bit more than 'slightly' though.
Here is the original one that I saw: Beautiful Medallion Card

When you compare the card in the link above and my card below, you can see the few differences.
All of the colored cardstock is bazzill and the white cardstock is georgia pacific.
I stamped the medallion stamp on white cardstock in Stampin' Up! lavender lace ink and then I stamped the Flowers from the Stampin' Up! essence of love in versamark and then dumped some judikins purple embossing glitter on top and heat embossed it. You can't really tell in the pic, but it's VERY shiny. so pretty.
on the medallion, where the 3 gems are on going around it, those are usually just open circles in the design of the stamp, once stamped, but I didn't like it left plain, so I added some prima gems to make it glam, starting with a larger size and going smaller down.
I added a larger gem to the middle of the medallion to give it some extra flare

I cut the image into 3 strips, making the middle one slightly larger than the 2 end pieces. for the bottom I just used another piece of white cardstock for the strip. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin' Up! sincere salutations set, in lavender lace to match the color of the medallion image. I used my fiskars treading water border punch to punch the scalloped border and put that under the white cardstock. I used my Stampin' Up! Boho Blossom punch and punched just the small flower. I inked the edges with a purple cats eye queue colorbox inkpad so that it would be highlighted on the white paper. I added small gems to the middle of them to tie them in with the image up top.

Here is a small portion of the inside of the card.

I just used the same pink cardstock from the front of the card and carried over to the inside and matted some white cardstock on top. I used lavender lace to stamp a "portion" of the flowers from the same stamp I used on the front, on the side to just give it some sort of decoration inside. I added gems to the flowers to dress it up. I used this sentiment from the Stampin' Up! occasional quotes set and stamped it in Stampin' Up! pink passion.

Well that's my card, I hope you like it. feel free to use it as inspiration and make one of your own with your own spin.

Keep on Craftin' and please, be kind to one another!
