Beautiful (3D) Butterflies

Thankfully, I was able to make these BEATUFIUL butterfly cards (for different occassions), thanks to lovely lady in one of my card groups on Facebook. Sadly, my retired SU! Doily Die stopped cutting and no tricks were working. This sweet lady in my group sent me her doily die because she didn't use it anymore (plus sent me another SU! doily die that cuts 3 smaller doilies in one die-isn't that the sweetest?!). I was able to cut some doilies and make these cute cards. One of which I'm going to send to sweet Ms. J. as a thank you.

I made a set of 4 cards, here's a preview of the card, but you'll have to click below to see the whole card.

Here's the set of 4 that I made. I used 2 of these cards and added them to the Mother's Day card order I had from a friend. She loved them!

I didn't use colored cardstock for the doilies, I inked them with felt pads for each color of the card. For this card I used SU! Tempting Turquoise for the doily and SU! Pixie Pink for the middle circle. I die cut the butterfly base and top, the base is plain cardstock and though not visible, the top of each butterfly is cut with pearlescent paper. I used diamond dots on the middle (body) of each butterfly. I only glued down the middle of top layer of the butterfly so that the top wings would be up and be 3D.

For this doily I used SU! Daffodil Delight ink, Tempting Turquoise ink for the middle circle and SU! Pixie Pink cardstock for the bottom layer of the butterfly. For each of the cards, I did strips of deco cardstock, all the same, but on each card, the middle strip of cardstock has the color of the middle butterfly at the top of the strip with the exception of the yellow butterfly because I couldn't cut that one any shorter to get to the yellow.

For this doily I used SU! Pixie Pink ink and Daffodil Delight for the middle circle and Tempting Turquoise cardstock for the bottom layer of the butterfly.

I used SU! Daffodil Delight for this doily and SU! Pumpkin Pie for the middle circle.

Thank you for fluttering by to check out my butterfly cards, I hope you found them as pretty as I think they turned out.

Check back soon, I have more to share!

Keep on Craftin'!
